Rebecca said"It's been a blast! i just got back home only to discuss the possibilities to return to Vancouver, so future travelers beware: i might just try to take this room for good! ;) I'm still not sure whether it was Darcy or Oscar the cat who was most welcoming (Darcy talked more, Oscar cuddled more) but i had a really great time and did feel like having a home away from home. The area is beautiful plus there is all the little bookshops, yoga studios, boutiques and restaurants to have it all in within a few blocks and there is easy access to downtown as well. Kitsilano Cottage, the structure, is a heritage designation qualified 1910 Craftsman bungalow, typical of the Kitsilano neighbourhood. It has been meticulously restored and ethically upgraded to provide modern living convenience while maintaining architectural integrity with its origins.

A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage is a single, upscale, self-contained, garden level suite, of approximately 825 sq. ft. There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. There is, a double sized sofabed in the living room. The furnishings are a blend of antique and authentic hardwood reproductions in the Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Mission or, as our guests from the United Kingdom fondly refer to it, Macintosh style.

The suite has a private entry; patio, separate private phone line with telephone answering device; flat screen LCD-TV with DVD/VCR and digital cable providing pay per view and video on demand services; Broadband Internet access by Ethernet and WiFi (we were the first to offer complimentary Hi-Speed internet access to our guests in Vancouver); bookshelf stereo with FM/CD/Cassette and library of BC artists' music; a single bathroom with tub/shower; full cook's kitchen facilities including smooth top self cleaning stove, side by side refrigerator/freeze with filtered water, ice and crushed ice dispenser, full compliment of pots, pans and cooking utensils, microwave, toaster, blender, kettle, espresso machine, drip coffee maker, glassware and dishes; in suite laundry facilities and bicycles with helmets, for guest use. Daily rate guests, staying over a week, are provided weekly linen changes and cleaning service. Breakfast is not served. Water front/beach walking opportunities abound and are feasible and popular year around. Explore the wonderful boutique shopping of Kitsilano, along West Broadway and 4th Ave, all very doable on foot, from our convenient location. All of Greater Vancouver comes to Kitsilano for their special nights out, with its selection of many of the finest restuarants in the city and popular night clubs. Golfing is available, at several courses in our vicinity, year around. In our immediate vicinity, the UBC Museum of Anthropology is renowned for its North Coast Native collection of art and artifacts, while the building and its setting and views are a spectacular experience, in themselves. Similarly the Maritime Museum and adjacent Planetarium are nearby and always popular with local residents and guests.

The townhome has spectacular unobstructed views of the Honls Beach, the ocean, and cruise ships moored in Kailua Bay. During your stay, you will enjoy the benefits of a fully equipped 2115 sqft. luxury home with tropical appointments throughout. In addition, you will have access to the complex facilities including workout gym, pool, and spa.

Additional townhome features include a fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters, and bar seating. The separate dining area has seating for six. The family room features a 37 flat screen TV with Home Theater System and iPod dock. The fully landscaped main level lanai overlooks Honls Beach. It has a gas BBQ and an outdoor table with seating for six where you can enjoy that morning cup of coffee watching cruise ships, surfers, or other activities in the bay or a late afternoon mai tai watching the sun set over the ocean.

It is important to note that because of HOA rules, this townhome cannot be rented for periods less than 30 days. Depending on the rental season and duration of your stay, the monthly rates range between $85/night and $140/night plus Hawaii taxes and Cleaning Fee.
