Ive changed the hide a little bit. Move it closer to the place where kingfishers sit for fishing.
Ive had two things to deal with when taking this picture. First one was the exposure. Its a nightmare to expose these guys. When expose for black feathers white feathers over-exposes, when expose for white, everything else underexposes and loose detail in shadows. So I decided to let white feathers over-expose a bit in order to retain shadow details.
Other concern was my daughter (Sesadi), in the morning when I try to leave home hedging for the hide, She demanded that I take her to the hide so she also can watch kingfishers. When birds arrived and shooting starts, again she insisted on showing her every picture I take. Keeping her quite was also not that easy. Ive missed several shots due to this but I enjoyed her company in the hide nonetheless.

I had to be inside a hide for 3hours to get this one. Still my 300F4 with 1.4 TC was not long enough.
This image is about 50% crop and barely printable 8x12.
