| Big Ten Baseball Final Release The conclusion of the 2008 Big Ten baseball season saw Michigan finish in the top 25 in the nation after earning the right to host an NCAA regional on the heels of the program's fourth-straight NCAA Championship appearance, eighth Big Ten Tournament title and 35th conference championship.  Twenty-Six Big Ten Baseball Players Taken in 2008 Major League Baseball Draft Twenty-six Big Ten baseball players were selected in Major League Baseball's first-year player draft, held June 5-6. Seven student-athletes were taken on Day 1 of the event, marking the highest total of Big Ten players taken in the top six rounds in the past decade. Big Ten Baseball Season in Review The 2008 Big Ten baseball season saw Michigan earn its 35th overall and third consecutive conference title, while the Wolverines also earned their fourth straight NCAA trip and the right to host regional action. Michigan Eliminated from NCAA Championship Michigan's season came to a close on Sunday afternoon with a 12-6 loss to Kentucky in regional action of the 2008 NCAA Championship. Michigan Splits on Day 2 of NCAA Regional Action Michigan defeated Kentucky but fell to Arizona on Saturday in regional action of the NCAA Baseball Championship.
