During Australia tour, she performed several traditional Indian classical ragas and acoustic versions of her compositions from her Grammy nominated album Rise and her latest release Breathing Under Water. The Sydney Opera House Concert hall was packed with Indian music fans and Australian fans with an appreciation of Indian classical and fusion music.

Music Happening - Rahman Rules at the IIFA
A.R. Rahman bagged the honor of best music director for his score in Mani Ratnam's Guru. Shreya Ghoshal was named the best playback singer (female) for the song 'Barso re' in Guru. The film also won in the best background score (Rahman) and best song recording (H. Sridhar). Shaan bagged the best playback (male) award for 'Jab se tere naina' from Saawariya.

The 88-year-old maestro, who has millions of fans worldwide, was at his best, playing select ragas for a very appreciative audience. His daughter Anoushka also performed with him. Although much of the tour had been cancelled because of a stomach virus Ravi Shankar was suffering from, he recovered enough to perform in this concert.

In 1991, she released her album Dhuan and later Paree, which catapulted her to the coveted top spot among Indian pop singers. The lady with the dazzling smile, well known for hit numbers like 'Pari hoon main', 'Kesariya' and 'Ab ke baras' is ready to release her next album soon. Titled Waqt, the album will be released next month.
