Deepika admits that she is very happy to be nominated considering that the film did so badly at the box office. He was used to playing the main lead, although he never gave a hit. However, he loved the script and accepted the role. Now, he is glad that he did. His character Ranjeet, who loves Clint Eastwood and is inspired by Hollywood DVDs, has earned him so much appreciation that Sanjay is all smiles. Movie Happening - Nandita Das Makes her Mark Two Indian films have won the Ciepie awards at the Seventh Kara Film Festival in Islamabad, Pakistan. Nandita Das' directorial debut Firaaq and a documentary, Superman of Malegaon, were the recipients. Nandita Das, an acclaimed actor, has proved that she she can succeed behind the camera as well. She said that she was glad at the audience response and jury citation for her film. Movie Happening - The 'Slumdog' Saga This is one instance of real life imitating reel life. Boyle's rags-to-riches story and the triumph of love and hope in a slum has certainly played out in real life for his film as well.
