Rarified Air-World's only flying Pitcairn PA-18 arrives in Oshkosh
Around this time last year, Jack and Kate Tiffany, of Spring Hill, Ohio, and the crew of Leading Edge Restorations, were anticipating the flight of their recently restored Pitcairn PA-18 Autogiro to Oshkosh for AirVenture 2008. However, the rotor blades were significantly damaged during testing about a week prior to Oshkosh and the flight had to be called off.

Aspen Avionics Visits Oshkosh
Brad Hayden, director of marketing for Aspen Avionics, visited EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh on June 25 to renew Aspen's partnership with EAA to host the North 40 Welcome Center during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2009, having instituted the Center for the first time in 2008.

EAA Helps Finalize Part 23 Certification Process Review Report
For the past year and a half EAA staff have been a part of the FAA Small Aircraft Directorate's Part 23 Certification Process Review, the FAA's first step as it looks towards revising the current regulations under which small aircraft (under 12,500 lbs) are produced. The report will present a variety of suggestions including a thoughtful approach to rethinking the methodology of how aircraft are defined within Part 23.

EAA, AOPA Seek Extended Comment Period on Proposed Burbank Airport Night Curfew
EAA and AOPA are asking the FAA to extend the public comment period from 30 to 60 days regarding a petition to impose a night flight curfew at the Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank, California.
